At a distance of 10 km from Ramanagara Bus Stand, and 63 km from Bangalore, Thimappana Betta is a serene hill situated in the Ramanagara district of Karnataka. It is one of the popular places for trekking near Bangalore, and among the must-include places in Bangalore tour packages.

Thimmappana Betta is known for its gorgeous twin rocks and surrounding nature that make it a perfect landscape picture for Instagram. This rock has come to the limelight recently in 2017 due to easy accessibility to the top, without needing much trekking or climbing. There is a well-maintained temple named Thimmappana Swamy Temple at the base of the hill. There are 2 viewpoints - one very close to the temple while the other one is 15 minutes away.

Roads are really very good till the basement of the hill. This place is less known hence less crowded. This place is a good option around Bangalore for a short ride, click photos and breathe some fresh air. The place is very clean, no drinking is allowed anywhere near this place. There is little scope for trekking here as one can find huge rocks everywhere that are very steep to climb. If you're skilled enough and your bikes permit you can ride on top of the rock. Be extra careful if it is raining or if your bike is not powerful enough or too heavy to handle.
