At a distance of 70 Km from Bangalore, Isha Yoga Center is a spiritual center situated in a stunning natural environment near Nandi Hills in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka. It is one of the top places to visit near Bangalore.
Sadhguru Sannidhi Bangalore, popularly known as the Isha Yoga Center was founded by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and is administered by the Isha Foundation. Sprawling over a vast area, Sadhguru Sannidhi, Bengaluru has been established as a powerful center for inner transformation, and creating an established state of wellbeing in individuals. The large tranquil residential complex houses an active international community of Brahmacharis who are full-time volunteers. It offers all four major paths of yoga - kriya (energy), gnana (knowledge), karma (action), and bhakti (devotion), drawing people from all over the world as part of the Bangalore packages.
The first thing that draws the attention of visitors at the Center is the towering bust of the Hindu deity Shiva, known as Adiyogi, which stands at 112 feet. This statue was unveiled by the Chief Minister of Karnataka on January 15, 2023. Weighing approximately 500 tonnes, its height of 112 feet represents the 112 pathways to achieve moksha (liberation) as outlined in yogic tradition, as well as the 112 chakras present within the human body. The Adi Yogi statue located in Chikkaballapura is a replica of a renowned statue found at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore. Positioned in front of Adiyogi is a statue of Nandi, a large metal sculpture of a bull, which is depicted in a pose that conveys both relaxation and alertness.
Adjacent to the Adiyogi is the Yogeshwara Linga, consecrated by Sadhguru, symbolizing five of the principal chakras within the human system. The presence of Adiyogi alongside the Yogeshwara Linga has transformed it into a living entity. Additionally, there is the Naga Mantapa located near the entrance, where various offerings and rituals aimed at enhancing one's immediate and ultimate wellbeing are provided.
In the near future, Sadhguru Sannidhi will encompass consecrated areas such as the Nava Graha shrines, Linga Bhairavi, and the Teerthakunds, along with the Sadhguru Academy, Isha Home School, Isha Samskriti, and Isha Health Solutions. The expansion plans also include Anubhava Mantapa, a program hall with a capacity for 6000 individuals, along with residential accommodations and additional facilities.
Another notable feature of the site is the evening laser show at 7 PM, titled 'Adi Yogi Divya Darshanam.' This 14-minute projection show is mapped onto the Adi Yogi Statue itself. The projection is accompanied by a narration delivered in Sadhguru's voice, recounting the tale of Adi Yogi and the Saptha Rishis. It is indeed a remarkable spectacle and a sight to behold.
