At a distance of 27 km from Panjim Kadamba Bus Stand, 44 km from Vasco Da Gama Railway Station and 30 km from Margao Railway Station, Shri Anant Temple is situated in North Goa. Shri Anant Temple also known as Madanant Temple is located at Savoi-Verem of Ponda Taluka. This is one of the famous temples situated in Ponda and the only temple of Ananta in Goa. It is surrounded on all sides by water and beautiful scenery. The temple of Sri Anant was built in 1540.

The temple of Anant is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Ananta is the serpent on which Vishnu rests and is said to be the holder of the entire universe's weight. Goddess Shri Laxmi is sitting at the feet of Lord Vishnu. The idol of the deity is carved with black stone. Besides the main deity Anant Sheshashayi, the complex also has Shantadurga, Kamini, Narayan and Grampurush temples.

The structure of the temple is small and is quite inviting. The pillar decoration is very minute and full of intricate designs. The distinct structure of this temple is a two storey high lamp tower. During festivals the tower is decorated with oil lamps. Nearby the temple, there is a holy water tank which is used for rituals.

The three day festival of Gade which begins on Phalgun Purnima draws big crowds. Devotees believe they can have the darshan of Devchars during the Gade festival. As per the norm of the temple, the idol is made to sit on the chariot and is given a ride around the temple and the village during the annual Jatra of the deity.

Timings: 8 am to 5:30 pm.
