The Tughlaqabad Fort was built by the founder of the Tughlaq Dynasty, Ghiyas-ud-din-Tughlaq in 1321. Ghazi Malik drove away the Khilji ruler and built his city of Tughlaqabad and the fort. The present town of Narendra Nagar came into existence in 1919 when Maharaja Narendra Shah of Tehri Garhwal moved his capital from Tehri to the picturesque location of Odathali or Narendra Nagar. The province was eventually merged with the state of Uttar Pradesh shortly after India gained independence.

Kusum Sarovar is 450 feet long and 60 feet deep tank and features a flight of stairs on all sides. The Sarovar is believed to be the place where Radha along with gopikas used to collect flowers and meet Lord Krishna. Kadamba trees are found all over the place and it is said that Kadamba tree was the favorite tree of Lord Krishna. During the time of Lord Chaitanya (a great devotee of Lord Krishna), this place was known as Sumanah Sarovar. It is stated in the Chaitanya Charitamrita that Lord Chaitanya took bath here.

The Sarovar is surrounded by magnificent structures which were constructed by Jawahar Singh, the king of Bharatpur in the middle of 18th century, in honor of his father Raja Suraj Mal. A simple earthen pond till 1675, it was properly built by ruler of Orchha, Veer Singh, after which Suraj Mal constructed a garden for his queen, converting it into a beautiful place. The town of Bhangarh was established in 1573 during the rule of Bhagwant Das. The Bhangarh fort was built in 1613 by Madho Singh, who was the son of Man Singh of Amber, a great Mughal General. The fort is considered to be one of the most haunted places in India. Because of the numerous ghostly experiences and happenings in the fort premises, villages have sprung up far away from the fort. The Archaeological Survey of India has forbidden the locals and tourists from entering the fort at night.

The fort and the town of Bhangarh are believed to be haunted since many centuries. There are several legends associated with the palace. According to one story, the town was cursed by a magician Guru Balu Nath who had sanctioned the construction of the town on one condition that the city will be destroyed the moment the shadow of the palaces touch him. In ignorance, Ajab Singh, son of Madho Singh, raised the height of the palace, causing the devastation of Bhangarh. Balu Nath is said to be buried there to this day in a small Samadhi. As per another story, a tantrik who fell in love with Princess of Bhangarh, Ratnavati, cursed that the whole area be destroyed.

Neemrana town is famous for its magnificent Neemrana Fort Palace. It was built in 1464 AD, occupied by Chauhans till 1947. Neemrana became the third capital of the descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan III. Neemrana derived its name from a brave local chieftain Nimola Meo, who when defeated by the Chauhans, pleaded that his name be given to his lost kingdom. It was subsequently conquered by the Mughals and the Jats before reverting back to the Rajputs in 1775 when the princely state of Alwar was established.

At a distance of 47 km from Gurgaon, Nuh is a historical town and the district headquarters of Mewat district in Haryana. It is situated on the Delhi-Alwar Highway. The town assumed importance at the time of Bahadur Singh of Ghasera because of the trade in salt manufactured in neighboring villages.

There are several historical ruins around Nuh that date back to the 14th century. Prominent structures include the mosque and the tomb of Bahadur Khan Nahir. The highlight of these structures is the architecture and carvings on the red sandstone and grey quartzite. Chui Mai Pond is a rectangular ancient water tank with a cenotaph of red stone with beautiful carvings.

There is also a natural reservoir in Nalhad, a village 2 km from Nuh under the Aravalli Hills. The distinct feature of the reservoir is that its water keeps flowing out of the reservoir all round the year. There is also a Lord Shiva temple.

Tomb of Sheikh Musa is located on the eastern hill along with the remains of the Temple of Hathor. The tomb is famous for its shaking minarets. The Temple of Hathor, located in the vicinity to this tomb, is believed to be an ancient structure. Archaeologists have found Greek and demotic papyri within the temple complex.

The fort was built in the mid-18th century by the Jat rulers and is surrounded by a 100-acre mango grove. During 1740, the Jats became strong military power who originally belong to Mandoti in Haryana and were the descendants from the Jats of the Dalal sub-caste.

The Kuchesar Fort was brought into the Ajit Singh's family's possession in the 18th century when the Mughal emperor Najib-ud-Daulah bestowed the Jat family with the title of Rao Bahadur and the Jagir of Kuchesar comprising of 365 villages. The mud fort of Kuchesar was captured in 1763 but was recovered by the Jat rulers by 1782 and it remained under their control until British captured it in 1807.

The Mud Fort has seven turrets built in defense against British cannon attack. A wide moat was dug to create the ramparts. The main palace overlooks gardens on three sides and on the west are the ruins of a replica of Robert Clive's house in Kolkata.
