At a distance of 14 km from Panjim Kadamba Bus Stand and 40 km from Vasco Da Gama Railway Station, Swiss Chapel is situated in Mapusa town of North Goa.

The Swiss Chapel also called Holy Cross Chapel. This Chapel was built in 1843 and is located quite close to the heritage buildings of Mapusa Court and the Municipal building on the Jerome Road.

Holy Cross Chapel has an admirable cream and blue coloured wooden altar and shrine. Figurative grillwork is hard to find in Goa it is usually commemorated an event in British-Indian history. This little Chapel has a royal bust moulded on the grill. The ritual at Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is followed every Friday from 7.30 am followed by the Ritual of the Benediction at 7 pm.

Swiss Chapel organizes the Holy Cross Feast at the beginning of Lent. Lent is the Christian season of preparation before Easter. In Western Christianity Ash Wednesday marks the first day or the start of the season of Lent which begins 40 days prior to Easter excluding Sundays in the count. The Holy Cross feast begins just 9 days before the Goa Carnival.
